The much touted 2012 end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it prophecies did not turn out as advertised, but when you read what they say, the Mayans had a positive vision for the rebirth of humankind at this time.
The 7 Mayan Prophecies: Destruction or Evolution?
The Mayas do not speak of the end of the world; specifically they say that everything transforms, that the only thing which remains is the spirit, in its journey of evolution toward higher levels. Clearly, it’s been six months since the big Winter Solstice of 2012–and the Summer Solstice of 2012, and we’re still here.
The First Mayan Prophecy announces the end of the present cycle, that from the year 1999 there are 13 years remaining, that every person is in the great room of mirrors to find his own multidimensional nature within himself.
The Second Mayan Prophecy says that the answers to everything are inside man, that our behavior determines our future. It affirms that humanity finds itself in a moment of fundamental transition toward a new way of perceiving the universe…that the universe and the solar system are receiving a beam of light, energy, and information from the center of the galaxy, and that this is causing an increase in the vibration of the planet and the brain waves and cells of man, placing him in equilibrium with this new frequency, causing enormous changes in his behavior.
The second Mayan prophecy shows two paths: one of understanding and tolerance, and one of fear and destruction. In both man will learn the necessary lessons for the evolution of the conscience. The difficult situations will remain in our lives as long as we need to learn something from them.
The Third Mayan Prophecy says that we must become aware of our influence on the planet so that we do not continue making mistakes, or causing its destruction, as has happened over the course of history. There will be energy vortexes which will clean the earth’s surface, which are the manifestation of the inconformity of our planet, and of the elemental energies contained in its interior.
The Fourth Mayan Prophecy tells us: man must cease his destructive behavior, in order to synchronize with the rhythms of nature and adjust to the changes which will take the whole universe to an era of harmony. The climate changes will produce a melting of the poles, allowing the planet to be cleansed and green again, producing great changes in the physical composition of the continents.
The Fifth Mayan Prophecy says that all systems based on fear which affect our civilization, will transform simultaneously with the planet and humanity, to take a new step toward the reality of harmony. A single, common spiritual path will emerge for all humanity which will end the established limits we have set for the different ways of seeing God. just getting rid of fear-based religion in favor of love, trust and respect would certainly be an improvement.
The Sixth Mayan Prophecy says that in the next few years a comet will appear whose trajectory will place humanity’s existence in danger, also predicted by many religions and cults; in the Bible’s book of Revelations it appears under the name Wormwood. The Mayan culture considers comets to be agents of change that come to invoke the evolution of the collective conscience.
The Seventh Mayan Prophecy tells us of the moment when the solar system, in its cycle, leaves the night and enters the dawn of the galaxy. Those who voluntarily find their interior state of peace, taking their frequency of vital energy from fear to LOVE, will be able to capture and express themselves through thought, and with that, Evolve. We can only hope that this light of the universe will actually dawn on Earth and we’ll see things in a different way.

These prophecies certainly make you think. So many of the thoughts are represented by different religions. It would be wonderful if everyone could join together in a common goal. Wether that outcome is possible is another matter. Thank you for an enlightening post.
Francene, the Mayas say that it might work and that all the religions will merge–or that everyone will become spiritual not religious. I’m hoping for that too.
Thank you so much for the great summary of the Mayan prophecies. Like many of us, I had heard for years and years about “the end.” To learn that it wasn’t necessarily an end, as in “boom” gone, and an end of the way things had been was a real eye opener for me when I first heard it. To read what the other prophecies have to say is enlightening and has me wondering how long it will take for us to really find that inner peace (not there and am definitely working toward the goal even when I call down on a regular basis). Your post serves as a reminder for me to continue that work and be part of the solution and part of the love that is possible.
Inner peace is certainly an inside job, but I know more and more people who are finding it an important thing to aspire to and work on. I’m one of them. Love is all there is.
Truly interesting. I do believe that until each person starts that trip into understanding spirit, they will fail to get the message of the Mayan Prophecies, but once they start to investigate with an open mind they will discover the changes they must make if we are to save this planet.
Great post! and very interesting! I think it is so important that for us as humanity to begin to move forward, we must all look within ourselves and realize our only saving grace will be love to one another. I believe the Mayans knew this and shared that with us through their prophecies! Thanks for the great info!
Isn’t it interesting that the focus has been on “the end of the world as we know it” and not on the “I feel fine” part? Thanks for stopping by.
Much has been written about the 2012 mayan prophecy. Some are words of doom, some are words of hope and renewal. But, how to differentiate between what the Mayan tradition really says about 2012, and all the positive or scary meanings that we have attached to this year?
The precise manner of Armageddon remains vague, ranging from a catastrophic celestial collision between Earth and the mythical planet Nibiru, also known as Planet X, a disastrous crash with a comet, or the annihilation of civilisation by a giant solar storm.
The ‘prophecy’ does not stem from the Mayans at all. Instead, the beliefs come from two New Age books in the Seventies and Eighties, says a British academic.
That figures. There’s no money in studying something that does not predict DOOM! 😉
