Starting tomorrow, I am building a habit of blogging daily, at least on this site. Following the http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/ website, I have made a list of topics, A to Z, to get my writing gears lubricated and turning. Beginning a challenge like this is a kind of spiritual discipline, a reminder to use the techniques that I know, and to practice what I preach.
Since one of the wishes I have made is to be an author, writing is part of the process. My first novel, Maven Fairy Godmother, was released yesterday, so that is the first plateau of being an author. Now I wish to build on what I have learned, and to apply the skills to other parts of my life to manifest the other wishes I have made.
Since I teach writing, I have a lot of general skills, but since my background is academic writing, not journalism experience, I have a ways to go to do good writing on demand. This project is like doing exercise for that daily practice. This process is working for me already, as I am making changes in my life that I never thought were possible, and finding peace and joy instead of feeling deprived and desperate. I hope you will join me on my journey and find that it helps you make your own wishes come true.

Congratulations on your book and the A to Z challenge. I am trying to be my own fairy godmother and look forward to your posts. I wish you the best of luck (and acceptance) on this journey all the way from A to Z. My first post today was on advice, would love to hear from the Fairy Godmother if you’re up for it.

Congratulations to the release of your book. Is it an ebook or book-book?
I knew we had a lot in common but didn’t realize you are used to professional writing; it’s such a different genre, isn’t it? I’m so glad you decided to do the A thought Z. What # are you on the A through Z list?
Right now, Maven is an ebook, but will come out in print sometime this year. If you would consider doing a review, I’ll send you a copy to read.
Rhia, I’m number 1477. That has to be a lucky number of some kind! Maven is an ebook now, and will be released in print later on this year sometime.
